February 2015 - KMA Remarketing Corporation is proud to announce that Mark L. Bowley has received the Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Mark is the first “Biomedical Equipment Technician” Journeyman certified by the Commonwealth of PA. This status of Journeyman is recognized on the State and Federal levels. Through working with the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, KMA recognized an opportunity to adapt their training system to allow for an apprenticeship program. With the assistance of Steve Myers, of the Pennsylvania Apprenticeship and Training Council, KMA began the process of designing a program to meet the PA Apprenticeship and Training Council standards. After extensive planning and research KMA established with a program that includes 2000 hours of on-the-job training yearly. After 4 years of on-the-job training and approximately 1000 hours of classroom credits the individual is approved to become a “Biomedical Equipment Technician” Journeyman. This program is a great opportunity for anyone looking to start a career, while not accumulating the debt of going to a college or technical school. This program can take an individual with a high school diploma and pay them a competitive local salary that increases yearly as the goals of the program are met. Upon completion of this program the individual is a Journeyman, a title that is recognized throughout all industries. The Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship qualifies the Journeyman to take the International Certification Commission’s test to become a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician. The CBET distinction is recognized worldwide as an individual who is trained and trusted to work on medical equipment in the healthcare industry.

June 27, 2013 - DUBOIS AREA FLOOD
Heavy rains and powerful winds brought flash flooding to our area. Several business and homes sustained severe water damage. Jared Street, where KMA is headquartered, was among the hardest hit, with people having to be evacuated from their home by Water Rescue Teams. Luckily, KMA did not have any amount of water enter the building. With a large majority of our staff being Firefighters, Water Rescue Team Members, etc. they volunteered their time and energy in rescuing people, directing traffic, all while some received damage to their own personal property as well. Our hearts go out to our neighbors and co-workers who fell victim to the Flood of 2013.
Here are a few pictures from around our building.
Check out this local news article for more information on the DuBois Flood of 2013.
